Hasma (Snow Frog Jelly) recipe

For this recipe you will need:
3 frozen or dried hasma glands
2 C waters
1 C milk
sugar to taste

Hasma is a gland located near the Chinese brown frog ovaries. The gland gathers and stores nutrients for egg production. After extracting, hasma is frozen or dried, and then used in cooking.


Preparation:

1. Soak the hasma in cold water. Leave them in refrigerator overnight or for a minimum of 3 hours.

2. After swelling , drain and remove films.

3. Place the hasma into a saucepan, cover with water or milk, bring to a boil, remove the scum, and simmer for 20 minutes.4

4. Remove from heat and add sugar to taste.

5. Serve Snow Frog Jelly not more than one portion a day.
