Herring Canapé Recipe

For this recipe you will need:
White and rye bread
lemon
onion
canned olives
salted herring
1. Slice the white or rye bread into pieces not larger than 6 x 6 cm.
2. Make herring fillet and slice it into pieces as described here. Put one herring piece on each bread piece.
3. Remove the skin off  an onion bulb and slice onion into rings.
4. Cut a lemon into round slices and divide each slice into two parts.
5. Put an onion ring or lemon piece above the herring pieces.
6. Add one olive on top if desire.
7. Fasten canapé construction with a cocktail stick.
