Herring Open Sandwich Recipe

For this recipe you will need:
Long loaf
butter
onion
parsley
dill
salted herring
1. Cut the long loaf into slices.
2. Spread the butter onto the surface of loaf slice.
3. Wash salted herring in cold water. Cut the head off  the fish. Gut and clean the herring. Slit it along the backbone into two fillets. Remove skin and bones. Slice herring fillets into pieces of a width of 2 - 3 cm. Put two herring pieces on buttered loaf.
4. Remove outer skin of the onion bulbs and slice onion into rings. Put some onion rings onto the herring pieces.
5. Add some parsley and dill.
