Baked Ham Rolls Recipe

For this recipe you will need:
12 slices smoked ham
|
200 g chicken ham
|
300 g Pecorino Romano cheese
|
24 sun dried or baked cherry tomatoes
|
100 g black olives
|
60 g butter
|
½ cup flour
|
500 ml milk
|
toothpicks
|
Preparation:
1. Dice chicken ham, slice olives nicely and coarsely grate the cheese and mix them.
2. Put some mixture of the cheese, olives and chicken ham on a layer of smoked ham, add 2 pieces of tomatoes, roll and fix it with toothpicks.
3. Arrange the rolls on a baking dish.
4. Cook the flour over medium heat in a saucepan with melted butter for one minute, constantly stirring it; remove the saucepan from heat.
5. Gradually pour milk into flour and butter mixture stirring it constantly; cook it over medium heat (about 8-10 minutes) until sauce starts boiling or thickens.
6. Pour the milk sauce over the rolls in the baking dish.
7. Cook the rolls for 20 min. in an oven preheated at 180°C (355°F); when the rolls are ready, remove the toothpicks and serve hot.
