For this recipe you will need:
FOR 3 SERVINGS:
2 dried Seahorses (male and female if possible)
1/3 oz dried ginseng
1/3 oz dried stems stone fungus (She-Gu)
1/3 oz dried roots Astragalus (běi qí)
1/3 oz dried roots Chinese angelica
½ C dried wood ear soaked in boiling water for 30 minutes
handful of black beans
salt to taste
2 C pork
8 C water
no additional spices!

Preparation:

1. Cut the pork into pieces, cover with water and bring to a boil.

2. Remove scum, add the remaining ingredients minus salt and simmer for 4 hours.

3. After simmering, add salt to taste.

4. Remove seahorses, roots and stems.

5. Serve Seahorse Soup not more than two portions a week.
